SNOWARAMA 2009
Easter Seals New Brunswick would like to thank NBFSC and all the participating snowmobile clubs in New Brunswick for their hard work and dedication to Snowarama. Snowarama 2009 has been a great success. Throughout the province clubs put on many different fundraising events. Through donations, poker runs, silent auctions, dinners and dances, as of now over $32,000 has been raised. The hard work of New Brunswick Federation of Snowmobile Clubs, and the individual clubs is making the dreams of children with disabilities a reality.

Paul Robichaud
NBFSC’s new Trail Manager

Paul joins the staff at NBFSC after many years in the Aviation Sector, having enjoyed a professional career as an Air Traffic Controller and Commercial Pilot. He also has over a decade of experience in Off-Road Vehicle enforcement and education with the RCMP, where he received his certification as an ATV and Snowmobile Instructor with the force.

He was introduced to snowmobiling at an early age, when his parents acquired a new 1967 Ski-Doo Olympic, which had all of 10 HP, and which was only one of a few machines in the area. From that point on, many miles were logged; many drive belts & spark plugs were changed. He would continue to be an avid snowmobiler having owned various TNTs, Elans, Yamahas, & BRPs. Thankfully over the years, reliability with the sleds improved, and just as important, the trail network improved as well, both in quantity and quality through the hard work of many Volunteers.

Paul is looking forward to working with the NBFSC, and its dedicated group of Volunteers.

Snowmobiling is Winter Tourism in New Brunswick

We would like to welcome you to the New Brunswick Federation of Snowmobile Clubs web site!

Winter is an inevitable season in Canada and in New Brunswick we continue to celebrate winter by snowmobiling. Even after the scarcest winter snowfalls in 100-years through 2006, New Brunswick was still able to claim over four feet of the white stuff in many regions.

Through a partnership of hundreds of snowmobile club volunteers, thousands of gracious private landowners and provincial Governments and municipalities eager to capitalize on actual four-season tourism, New Brunswick boasts over 7000 kilometers of snowmobile only trails. The first recognition, respect and partnerships began in earnest between 1993 to 1995 when then Premier Frank McKenna realized the economic benefits of winter - White Gold - and the volunteer’s passion and contributions to the provincial economy.

Today, snowmobiling is New Brunswick’s Winter Tourism.

At the conclusion of the 2004 winter season Tourism & Parks measured the economic impact of New Brunswick’s winter tourism. Snowmobiling by New Brunswickers contributed $120 million and visitors from other Provinces and States dropped $22 million, all from snowmobiling, a $142 million impact. In Canada only Ontario and Quebec can claim larger numbers.

Winter, snowmobiling and winter tourism is an inevitable season in New Brunswick. We hope that you will choose to join us in 2009.
